
Hon. Stella Alibateese
Hon. Stella Alibateese has been a practicing advocate for over 22 years with experience in a number of areas the bulk of which is on policy and regulatory matters in the public sector. She Currently serves as the Director, Regulation and Legal Services, National Information Technology Authority, Uganda (NITA-U). Her recent work led to the development of the recently enacted Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019, Uganda.
She worked with Messrs Hunter and Greig Advocates one of the oldest law firms in Uganda and later National Social Security Fund where she served for 10 years in various capacities up to the position of Deputy Corporation Secretary/Ag.Corporation Secretary.
She is a member of various Boards in the NGO and private sector with vast experience in managing board affairs including providing advice to management and the board, corporate governance, provision of corporate secretarial services and managing communication between the Board and Management.
She is passionate about issues affecting youth and women and believe ICT can address various challenges they face in developing their talents and empower them in various ways. She is Rotarian and uses that as an opportunity to network with various professionals and an opportunity to serve others in her community.
